Terms of Service
By playing Milestead, joining early access, or contacting us, you agree to these terms. They'll be finalized with counsel before release; the safety rules already apply in full.
Running outdoors carries real risk. Stay aware, yield to traffic, respect property, obey local laws. Never look at the map while moving near roads or hazards — Milestead is designed for pocket-and-headphones play, with planning before and review after.
1. Safety first
Milestead rewards outdoor running, which means real streets, real traffic, and real weather. You are responsible for your own safety at all times.
Traffic always wins
Obey signals, crossings, and trail rules. No bonus is worth jaywalking.
No trespassing
Cells overlapping private or restricted land must never be entered. Harvest from public paths only.
We accept no responsibility for injury, damage, or fines resulting from unsafe play. If a route feels unsafe, skip it — the cells regrow.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- ✓ Age. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms with you. Milestead involves outdoor exercise — get appropriate guidance.
- ✓ One account. One account per person. Sharing, selling, or transferring accounts is not allowed.
- ✓ Pre-release resets. During testing, balances, maps, and progress may be reset between waves. Founder recognition is preserved; test progress is not guaranteed.
3. Fair play & anti-cheat
The whole game is that miles are earned. Anything that fakes miles breaks it for everyone.
Runs are checked against plausibility caps (speed, GPS accuracy, and a daily harvest ceiling). Impossible movement is discarded, and repeat abuse can suspend an account. If a legitimate run is ever flagged, contact us and we'll review it.
4. Virtual items
Resources, buildings, ages, and any future cosmetics are licensed to you for play. They have no monetary value, cannot be sold, traded for cash or crypto, or cashed out.
We may rebalance costs, yields, and regrowth to keep the game fair across different neighborhoods and densities. There are no purchases in the MVP, and progress is never gated behind payment.
5. Conduct
Milestead is solo and peaceful — keep it that way. No hateful or explicit nation names or handles. Never follow, confront, or harass another runner in the real world. Breaches can mean renamed nations, removed content, or suspended accounts.
6. Not medical advice
Milestead gives game goals, not training plans or medical guidance. Running stresses hearts, joints, and lungs. Make sure you're fit to run — and if you feel chest pain, dizziness, or unusual breathlessness, stop immediately and get help.
7. Liability
Milestead is provided as-is, without warranties. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including injuries from outdoor activity, outages, or GPS inaccuracies.
Governing law and dispute process will be specified when these terms are finalized with counsel before release.
